Why I Started Managing Affiliates

After more than 17 years building and managing affiliate programs for SaaS, eCommerce, Home Improvement, and yes, BBQ brands, I saw the same pattern over and over. Companies know affiliate marketing can work, but they rely on underperforming partners, messy tracking, wasted spend, and no clear growth plan.
That’s why I started Managing Affiliates.
My goal is simple. Turn affiliate marketing into a predictable, scalable revenue channel instead of a side project that never quite delivers. I handle strategy, execution, and day-to-day management so founders and marketing teams can focus on running their businesses, not babysitting links or chasing reports.
Managing Affiliates is the right fit for a clean, ethical, performance-driven affiliate program that drives revenue.

Hanging out at Memphis in May with one of the best in the BBQ game, Matt Pittman, the founder of MeatChurch.com. While managing the ThermoWorks.com affiliate program, I had the pleasure of attending several notable BBQ competitions and building strong partnerships.
Affiliate Marketing, Done the Right Way
Affiliate marketing works best when built on genuine partnerships, not shortcuts.
I focus on performance-based marketing models that benefit everyone. Pay for results, reward affiliates for their value, and protect the brand. No fluff, junk traffic, or surprises.
When done correctly, affiliate marketing can unlock entirely new revenue streams, expand your reach into new audiences, and strengthen your brand through trusted third-party voices. That only happens with the proper structure, the right partners, and consistent execution.
That’s where I come in.
Strategic Partnerships That Actually Perform
Strong affiliate programs are built through collaboration.
I help brands identify, recruit, and activate partners who genuinely align with their products, audiences, and values. These are not random sign-ups. They’re content creators, publishers, agencies, and operators who know how to drive qualified traffic and convert it.
Everyone benefits through strong affiliate management:
- Brands gain access to new audiences
- Affiliates earn fairly for real performance
- Customers are introduced through trusted sources
The result is sustainable growth, not short-term spikes.
Performance-Based Marketing Without the Guesswork
Affiliate marketing is one of the most efficient channels available because you pay for outcomes, not promises.
Clicks, leads, and sales are tracked cleanly, attributed correctly, and analyzed regularly. I focus on what’s actually moving the needle and cut what isn’t. Commission structures are designed to motivate the correct behavior and prevent abuse.
This creates clarity, accountability, and confidence in your numbers. You know where revenue is coming from, which partners deserve more investment, and where to optimize next.
Full-Service Affiliate Program Management
Most brands don’t need more ideas. They need execution.
I handle the full lifecycle of affiliate management, including:
- Program setup and platform selection
- Partner recruitment and onboarding
- Ongoing communication and activation
- Performance tracking and reporting
- Commission optimization and incentives
- Brand compliance and fraud prevention
You get clear updates, honest insights, and a program that runs smoothly in the background while producing real results.
Protecting Your Brand With Smart Fraud Prevention
Affiliate fraud is real, and ignoring it is expensive.
I use proven tools, pattern analysis, and hands-on review to catch issues early. That includes click fraud, low-quality lead sources, and partners who don’t align with brand standards.
Protecting your program protects your revenue, your data, and your reputation. Legitimate affiliates appreciate this as well, as it keeps the playing field level.
Growth Strategies Built for Your Business
There’s no one-size-fits-all affiliate strategy.
Every program is built around the company’s goals, margins, audience, and growth stage. That means:
- Targeting the right verticals and partner types
- Prioritizing quality over volume
- Scaling what works, slowly and intentionally
Growth should be sustainable. I focus on building programs that still work six months and two years down the road, not just this quarter.
Data You Can Actually Use
Dashboards are useless if they don’t lead to action.
I focus on clean attribution, meaningful reporting, and actionable insights to inform decisions. You’ll know:
- Which partners drive revenue
- Which traffic converts
- Where to double down
- What to fix or cut
Data should simplify decisions, not complicate them.
Recruiting the Right Affiliates, Not Just More Affiliates
Anyone can open the doors and hope for sign-ups.
I recruit intentionally. Partners are vetted for audience fit, content quality, engagement, and long-term potential. The goal is trust, relevance, and conversions, not inflated partner counts.
Once onboarded, affiliates receive clear communication, robust resources, and incentives to support their success.
Setup, Launch, and Long-Term Success
A strong launch sets the tone for everything that follows.
From tracking and compliance to onboarding and activation, we make sure programs are built clean from day one. After launch, the focus shifts to optimization, relationship building, and staying ahead of industry changes.
Affiliate marketing is not set-it-and-forget-it. It’s a channel that rewards consistency and attention.
A Bit About Me
Outside of work, I’m a husband, a dad, a coach, and a big believer that relationships matter more than titles. You’ll usually find me at a ball field, behind a smoker, or planning the next family adventure.
That mindset carries into my work. Show up prepared. Do right by people. Build things that last.
If you’re looking for someone who treats your affiliate program like it’s their own, I’d love to talk.
